Zen, you should still come down for sure because Caroline ( welkin) said the campgrounds assured her that primitive sites will be readily available. You're all set up with your truck camper. I wonder if Goalie is still thinking of coming and camping? I'm in a HOTEL for sure, but I love to visit camping friends! haha

Whoo hoo, finally booked our hotel for Rolex, and got Holiday Inn Express ( which I like) for $72/night! Not too bad. Now the only thing I'm nervous about is that I heard people saying that stadium tickets were sold out for Sunday, or some such. I usually buy our tickets at the gate, and buy stadium tickets at the grandstand ticket booth. It's so much EASIER that way and you have more flexibility. Say it's raining and you don't FEEL like sitting in the stadium watching dressage.... well you don't waste that ticket money then.

BTW, it's actually always been The Kentucky 3 Day Event, but since Rolex has been the primary sponsor for so long, it just got to be known as The Rolex. I only know this, because more then one year down there some Kentuckian has made sure I knew this.

Thea, I ended up at one in Winchester, which is down the road from our "usual" exit there at 64. But I figured what's the big deal? I'm not in any big hurry to get to the park. Since I waited so long I didn't find anything in Georgetown or Lexington that I liked.

Hi again. I haven't been here for (?) years, but I do still lurk occasionally. So now I see there is talk of a 2014 Rolex reunion! How cool is that!! I am a bit slower than in 2004, (having had both hips replaced this year) but I would be real interested in running around the Horse Park again. I made it to WEG a couple of years ago, and it reminded me of the exracers gang. I still have the pictures of trail riding in the rain. I'll start working on Claire now....
