That's not cheesy - that's one of the most beautiful songs ever written!

... I think he is playing a Gibson, but I'm not totally convinced. I don't think it's a Fender. Does anyone know?

Bara - are you referring to Don Felder in Hotel California? It's a double-neck Gibson. Gibson introduced a custom guitar as a result.

There we are! ;D You've taught me something now, NYBZ! I've never heard of the double-necked Gibson. but there's something unmistakable about that liquid tone... We once had a Les Paul in the early 70's... It would be worth a fortune, now! And what's the twelve-string? A semi-acoustic Hofner?

Bara, if you're asking about the 12 string in Hotel California - that's one of the necks of the Gibson, but it's electric, not accoustical. Felder plays the into on the 12 string and then later in the song, you hear Felder and Joe Walsh playing lead guitar together, and that's where the second neck of the Gibson comes in for Felder; it's the traditional 6 string. Walsh, I believe, plays Fenders.
My husband is a musician (not professional but played with a band for years as a side-line) and he collects guitars. We have a Gibson Les Paul Custom that he bought new in, I think, ~1975. It still looks brand new.
