I can't see the pics either but I thought Charm had a ewe neck too when I bought her. It went away with proper feed and correct work (as in, dressage bootcamp!) 1st hunter pace, 2 months after getting her About a year after And today, chasing the pony from the hay (bad girl!) A few more from today

Hope this works. This is the one you were talking about, right? Here's Janie when Einstein first got her: After let down and some good turn out: Here she is in July of 2010 And here she is a few weeks ago. It takes lots of time, patience, feed and good training to get a really nice neck. :-)

I learn something new everytime I come to exracers. This is such a great thread. Not only in describing and showing what a "ewe" neck is but how to fix it. Thanks to all who contributed their thoughts and pics.

I don't know why I forgot what a gorgeous horse Boy is! Wasn't that at his first jumper show BHK? He doesn't even look too small with Dusty on him. He is such a cool horse, and definitely looks great now. Yeah Michelle, that was when he went to Tuesday Night Jumpers ;D Love that picture, it really shows off his neck!

Jane is a great example, she was so thin when I got her off the track, even that picture doesn't show how awful she looked. She is just such a cool mare, I'm so glad she's doing so well with you filly, I LOVE seeing updates! She is a very, very, very good example of how time, proper feed, let down, and retraining won't change conformation, but will show you a totally different horse in about a year. When going to the track and picking out the diamond in the rough types, I don't look for what I want or hope to see, but what I think time, feed, adn proper riding'training can do to improve the over all picture, if possible. I saw Jane being great, although at the time, even my DH giggled at me and renamed her Plain Jane, which was a step up from her track name, which was Fugly, poor mare!
Look at Niaru's mare Charm, you can see off the track what a big engine/hind end she has, but it racing fit. Look at her recent pictures and she still has the big engine, but now the rest of her matches. She looks awesome, like a little tank, I love her!
