pinkdaisy, you are an 8-year-old! I know. I raised you. Your name is Mary, and you are very fond of pasta but highly skeptical of anything green. Am I right? YEP. Wait..... margaritas are diet food, right?

Margaritas have lime juice.... limes are green... green=healthy, right? If that's the case, I'm going on a health food binge tonight. I try to like things. I think I'm just a very sensitive taster. I can pick out the ingredients in a perfectly blended pasta sauce. (You better not put mushrooms in there!)

We love the Cabot reduced fat (not processed) cheddar slices. Tastes like cheese, with less fat and more protein. A hard boiled egg, slice of cheese, and fresh snap peas are a favorite packed lunch for me.
(And Ad will recall I love marinated baked tofu -- but I've given up trying to "sell" that to the non-tofu crowd)

Holy Cow this is the thread for me. I have gained 50 pounds since I went through my Chemo treatments. I can't dump any of it off. I am walking more and eating well about 95% of the time. I really need to get a grip on that other 5%. Says the person currently eating Orange Sherbert.

I was seriously discouraged this weekend. My roommates from grad school came to visit... all 5 of them. One of the girls is a serious health nut. She actually persuaded me to try a date. (Just for the record, I probably would have been better off picking up a piece of manure from a horse stall....) She runs almost everyday. Is in training for a marathon. Vegetarian (only because she doesn't like meat). Doesn't drink anymore. Carries two Nalgenes with water all the time. Snacks on vegetables. She isn't fanatical about it though. Doesn't expect everyone else to follow her. We made pizza and she ate the veggie pizza. We made a huge breakfast with bacon and eggs and hash browns and she ate hash browns that were cooked in oil. So she's not crazy. She did love the vegan cupcakes we got down town. All of that to say, she's so awesome. Incredibly healthy. Opposite of me. Maybe instead of feeling bad about myself, I'll be inspired. With that in mind, I'm sitting on the couch with another one of my roommates (her flight was cancelled so she's here another night!) watching Cake Boss, waiting for my DH to get home so we can go out to Chili's for drinks and dinner. Followed by ice cream. lol

PD, your friend sounds difficult, but not impossible! Actually, I think I'd like her a lot, except for that crazy exercise stuff. Can I have your dates?? yummmmmm

LMAO, PD, you are EXACTLY like my hubby. He hates anything that isn't covered in cheese or pasta. I will say at least he eats chicken and occasionally I can get him to eat a few pieces of spinach! Ok lunch: Try rolling bib lettuce with your favorite meats and slice of cheese? with some avocado slices and red peppers or smoked dried red tomatoes? I also do edemame beans for snacks, go to the local grocery store and pick up some shrimps and cocktails in these little miniture platters they have. Pick up those platters premade that have veggies and dip on them Fat free/diabetic yougart packs Cheese sticks soups that don't have tons of pasta in them. I have a fantastic bean soup that was very filling and oh so yummy! I couldn't stop eating it! lol There are also (if you have a freezer handy) sugar free popsicles Tuna in a tomato with turkey bacon and whatever else you want in it. Sugar free chocolate jello packs Try different kinds of salads. I recommend highly the SB supercharged or any of their diet books as they have fabulous recipes for salads and soups and snacks that are easy to pack. And don't use the excuse that you are only cooking for one cause I sure am not cooking for hubby! I end up cooking 2 dinners each night and you can freeze a lot of the stuff for later when you are too lazy to cook!
