Glad to hear you got him looked at. Just a bit of unasked for advice - get some dry molasses and add that to his diet as well, a small handful per day. It will add copper to his diet, and increase his ability to use the iron in the supplement. Of course, read the label fist and if copper is already added, no need to add the molasses, except it will make him eat better.
When Rambo was anaemic, it took about 3 weeks to see a huge difference - 3 weeks of Red Cell added to his feed, and adding molasses to hide it.

Teec, I have him on red cell as well. The vet said to give 4 oz a day until he gets back up to where he should be, as well as the hippiron which is an injectable and he wont get that for a few weeks. Today he seems to be a little warm. My thermometer was at home, I will check his temperature tonight when I get back. I sure hope he doesn't get infection from the injections.. Thanks Diane, he is such a sweet guy, and has been so tolerant. He stands so still to have his bandages fixed, even when he is outside and not tied. He just puts his nose on my back and sighs. I love that stupid horse
