Ok, so Fifi has gotten a flexible injected shoe into her sole. supposed to last 3-5 weeks. her whole sole was sore tonight when he tested her. she was hilarious when he was injecting them - had to check out every step. i hope this works.

I'm intrigued by the "injectable shoe" thing! Do you mean an injectable pad? That's what Casey (Charm's barnmate) gets every time she gets shoes on. Without it she abcesses.
One very dry summer Charm kept bruising etc until my farrier put rim pads on her (I don't like full pads, I like to see the sole lol). Problem solved.
Isn't it nice to have your old horse back...lol

Yes - equi-something or other. An injectable pad - we're actually using them without shoes. I've been researching them, and there is some evidence (radiographic) that the distribution of concussion actually stimulates sole growth, and reduces the need for the pad. Exciting! Not sure how it will all turn out, but it's the first time in 6 weeks I've ridden her 4 days in a row without an ounce of discomfort. It's kind of sad that i'm so focused on the possibility that she might limp or be short that I'm not focusing on how nice the ride is... So, farrier is happy, I'm happy, and most importantly, Fifi is happy. Even happy enough to go bucking and playing and scraping herself up in the pasture. Whatever.

YAY! That is amazing!!! How high-tech! Love that she's like "Woo-Hooooo!!!! I'm gonna go buck and run and....OW! Is that a scratch?! Ugh!"
I am SO happy she is right again!
