Is that the one about the child with autism? If so, I haven't read it, but I did read an article on the father. It seems like a very interesting story.
I love hearing about the amazing healing powers of horses.

Wow, I can hardly put it down! It's great! Yes, about an severly autistic boy and his family and how they travel to Mongolia as the child seems to somehow connect and be 'functional' around horses. Definitely recommend!

Ok, WOW, this book was awesome! I generally don't get into non-fiction stories but this was beautifully written. The style reminded me of Bill Bryson's style of writing. Comical, very descriptive and almost poetic at times. It's based on a true story of a severly autistic child and their parents journey to help break through to him and 'heal' him of his severe issues. They journey to the shamans in Mongolia and all I can say is WOW. This is one book I will definately reread and highly recommend. Very happy book for someone looking for an uplifting book! Horses are a key to the book too so that's bonus! ;D

Thanks for the recommendation Filly! Have you read "The curious incident of the dog in the night-time"? It's a little novel about an autistic child, no horses involved, but I found it very good, both moving and funny. My kids read it too and loved it.
I have to say, as an aside, that I make lists with all you guys' great recommendations. Then I pass it on to my friends/family. My father-in-law read "The 3 day road" (which I think I read per this forum's recommendation) and loooved it.

Niaru, yup, read that one too! Great book! I also loved "Riding the Bus with My Sister".
This book was just rich with imagery and funny funny funny!
I'm looking at getting Charlaine Harris' new book that's part of the Sookey Stackhouse series.
I also have a Stuart Woods book that is new that I have to read so I'll probably get that one done first. :-)
