Oh, it's been awhile since I was pg. Is there any bleeding? You could always call your doctor and ask a nurse on staff. Usually they are very helpful, and are used to a lot of questions from first time pregnancies.

I did have some mild constant cramping when I was pregnant. The doctor said it was normal as my muscles were changing & stretching. But that said, I would call your doctor. Especially in the early weeks, you never know what might be going on.

Late to the party... I am not preg., but when I had a "scare" back in the fall the first thing I did was call my OB/Gyn Aunt. She told me that normally she does not advocate riding while pregnant, but none of her patients are riders (she was one in her teens, btw). Her opinion was that light riding for an experienced rider was not a huge no-no, but she would say no greenies and no jumping. And if (like Jen) you begin experiencing pain, cramps, or spotting, STOP NOW! Of course you could fall, she said, but you could also slip in the shower with detrimental effects. Do everything you can to make yourself as safe as you can... but life must continue. My Grandpa (also a Dr... retired Orthopod) and Uncle (Neuro... Aunt's hubby) both say no, absolutely not. But Grandpa also acknowledges that pregnant women have so many rules today and some are completely ridiculous. He says that while there are many things you can do to have a healthy pregnancy, but you can't wrap yourself in bubble wrap either. Aaaanyhow, congratulations and good luck

Welllll, it's been a while since I read this post...figured I'd update you guys on everything. =] The pregnancy is coming along wonderfully, I have to say that i'm very happy. Had my first ultrasound a few weeks ago...I can't believe it...cn that baby was so amazing! I ended up not getting another OTTB, but I have about 5 months before I can start looking again =] I recently got hired as a horseback riding instructor at a local barn. I haven't done much riding since i got preg, but that may change if I decide to take my beginner students on a nice, slow, trail ride. Other than that, everything is going great. If you read my other post about online colleges, I decided not to do that. Instead I rescheduled to start my college in January, and I intend on completing my bachelors degree. (In the field of early childhood education) It just seems as if everything is working itself out.... It's amazing how God works sometimes =]

Congrats- I just had my second in Oct and also have a 2 1/2 yo. They are my world and oh so much fun! As for riding while preggers- most Dr's will say no, BUT, my Dr told me that until 3 months, the baby is below the pubic bone and protected. So as long as you don't break your pelvis, the baby is protected. After 3 months, it moves above the bone and is more vulnerable. At this point, your body also starts to change and you may find your balance off etc. I had my sweet as the day is long mare while preggers with my first and rode her until 7 months pregnant. I lost her by the time I was pregnant with my second and had my QH, who, while calm and a nice guy, just was no Aria and I quit riding at about 5 months this time. You'll know when the time is right. Congrats again, your life is about to change like never before. As scary as it seems, I can't imaging my life without my babies!
