i had a very sick baby one time that his mother had died and the people that owned him waited to long before the went for help. any way when i got him he was thin , and one day i noticed a spot like that, 4 days later it had spread all over , i gave him a semi bath with a good fugicide and used mtg he still lost some more hair but after benzodine and the anti fungle cream like u use for athlets feet it help clear it up and new hair growth finally started.
so 1. bath him in bezodine shampoo then start putting the antifungle cream 2. when you see after about a week that it has stoped spreading you can start the mtg but continue using anti fungle cream to keep it from flaring again and continue bathing 3. make sure you wash his blanket often so you are not just putting contaminated blankets back on him 3. disinfect his stall 4. keep him away from other horses because it can spread 5. keep rebathing often because the water will help incurrage hair growth
i dont know where your horses got the skin infection but my horse got it from the pasture some where we think?, i hope this works for you good luck
