Thanks, Lola. I have a saddle fitter coming on Monday. I've been riding him in my trainer's wintec isabell, to which he's never objected. He's moving beautifully now, no more soreness, and is stretching and using his back. It's such a relief to see him back to himself.
He is a narrow TB and a couple trainers have recommended a breastplate in the past. I should note that I would not dream of using it if the saddle didn't fit. There's definitely a new saddle in my future.
