I have a friend who asked me to pass the word about her mare. She has a 16 year old 15hand QH mare she'd like to find a good home for. This mare used to be used for beginners lessons and loves to jump. She is also very trail safe. She goes english or western as well as bareback. She's an extremely easy keeper (only a hand full of grain to keep her happy at feed time) and is very fat right now. She needs a job and her owner just doens't have the time to give her one. She does best with lots of turn out. She'll pin her ears occasionally in the stall but doesn't do anything bad. She's located in Rootstown, OH and her owner is asking $500 for her. She's a plain chestnut mare but is worth her weight in gold!

I would so take her if I wasn't downsizing my program! Actually, I know of a little boy in VA looking for a child's horse. Do you have pics? It has to be sort of cute because his aunt is a big hunter trainer, even though I don't think the little boy will be showing.

I don't have any pics but am working on it. She's actually very plain in looks but used to be used as a lesson horse at a big hunter show barn. She just got really sour with all the little kids kicking and pulling on her. She's been in a home with one other horse for the last year and has only been ridden a handful of times so he attitude has completely changed for the better.

She sounds cool. I am probably going to talk to the trainer (she's not the boy's trainer, she's his aunt!) in the next day or so and I will ask her how she feels about a plain but safe red mare. I think she had told me mares were OK. So I will let you know!

N/M it was someone else from OH who called - weird! I am waiting to hear back from the aunt; we are playing phone tag. I will call your friend if I get the green light!

Just wanted to point out that this horse was CLEARLY misrepresented in this ad. ;D The ad SHOULD have read: Saintly chestnut qh in OH. Beautiful mare both inside and out. Goes bareback, english or western, loves to jump, knows EVERYTHING, and desperately wants her own girl. A STEAL at any price!!! Furthermore: The ad should now read, NOT FOR SALE for ANY price!!! Seriously, this mare is one of the best things to ever happen to my daughter and I can't thank Jen and Carrie enough!

Awwwww...horses like Mandi are PRICELESS! Tabby is going to learn so much from her. I had a horse much like her when I was a kid. I still miss him to this day...

Mandi is teaching ME a lot too as Ive been riding her for awhile now because Lane was lame and now he has a new home so Ive been taking lessons on her. For starters shes taught me to NEVER underestimate what a plain chestnut qh can give to you. Shes also taught me that I want a horse just like her and i def. need to spend ATLEAST a few more years on a nice lil bombproof pony b4 i ever get another tb off the track-even tho i love them! Shes also helped me ride with my horse more like a team instead of being so bossy all the time. Most importantly shes teaching me how to relax & trust again. My lack of experience and owning a green ottb had turned me into a very tense & defensive rider with a constant death grip on the reins and the horse. Shes giving me back my confidence. Ok im done now-can you tell im kinda coveting my baby sisters pony? lol. Dont worry though as much as i love Mandi- she knows whos pony she is and she really loves tabby! I will always be 2nd in mandi's eyes. but that is a good thing!!!

What a happy ending! I love it! Congrats on your new baby! Your daughter looks amazing on her. I keep praying that someday I can get a bombproof horse for my little nephew. This mare looks perfect.
