Melinda - Thanks for pointing that out. Yes, Exracers is not the place to post spam, bogus ads, etc. However, it is also not the place to post harmful opinions, hearsay, false accusations....well, you get the drift. So, if anyone has actual FACTS - not just open opinions posted on a website - but actual first person facts, then by all means, you are welcome to share them here. Allie - I know you are just being helpful, but until we get ALL the facts, please just email Goalie, Sue, me or one of the other Mods any links you come across - and thanks! tbp - I know you are new, - and welcome to Exracers, by the way ;D - but as you don't know us, we don't know you either. What you are offering could be totally legit - and if it is, I dang sure wish I lived, well wherever it is that you live..... Which brings up a very valid point. When you post an ad and leave out specific info, it does tend to make folks a bit suspicious. So, if you can post an ad that states your personal email, city and state, farm name, etc. or at least with a link going to a more informative website, then by all means please feel free to post away - and do start a new thread with your new ad. That way I can move this thread elsewhere. of course, if this isn't a legit offer, then you have been warned - so let's all play nice, 'kay? ~ The Geek

Wow, I haven't visited ER in a while until recently (busy schedule), and I am disappointed by the unfriendly slant of this thread. It's kind of scaring me off a little! I don't know much about the OP or the accusations, I know I have seen their ads online for horses for sale in the past at very reasonable prices. I'm not quite sure how a working student has much to lose on this deal, it sounds great.

Here's a fact. There is no identifying information on their website anywhere, which is what I said in the first place. I'm not going to email links to anybody--if anybody is interested they can look it up themselves. (psssst. They've shown up here before )

I would just like to see some facts myself.

I am not sure why everyone is so upset about my post. Would it be better if I post it under riderless horses. We are looking for riders to basically show horses. We have two girls now that are working out wonderfully but would like to have another rider to show for us. Ideally we would like for the rider to be able to ride their horse 2-3 times a week to get to know each other. I ride the greenies until they are ready to show and certainly would not put an inexperienced rider on an inappropriate horse. I really don't like showing (terrible nerves and just don't enjoy it)and do much better working as the groom at shows. We like for our horses to have a little local experience. If you have suggestions for what we could do better when advertising this please let me know. The girls who ride here also ride elsewhere and they do not get anything for showing the horses. So they really like the fact that we take them to Dover. The parents seemed to like it as well because they save money on showing fees and clothing. I am really sorry if I have offended anyone and we are genuinely just looking for a rider. I would really like to have someone in the next couple of weeks. We have our show season planned and it will pretty much be all local schooling shows. If you know of other message boards that would be a better avenue for us please let me know. You can e-mail me for more information.

tbp I think it would have been better if you had posted this in the Trading post forum. You are looking for a person to do a service and that is more for that forum than the main horse forum. I am going to move it over to there now. No one is upset over your post, they just want more info. Obviously you are not going to provide it on your web site so that is why people are questioning you.

Hi guys, My mom let me know that you guys were wondering if TBP was a legit company...and it is! My name is Ashlen, I ride with another girl named Kenzie at Thoroughbred Prospects. I get a free stall for my horse Pilot and Kenzie keeps her horse at a barn called Spring Brook. I am also the designer of the website. I read some of your comments about it...I am sorry that it does not have tons of info about our names and stuff. I am only 14...and I worked really hard to get the website where it is, and I would really appreciate it if you guys didnt put down my work Just remember that when you say those type of things that it does kind of hurt my feelings a little bit because I worked quite hard on it. Anyways, I will only post once on here, but my email is tailribbons@yahoo.com if anyone wants to contact me. Again, I will vauge for TBP and say that it is the best place that I have catch rode for in that it is a really fun and relaxed enviroment. Thanks!

Sorry if your feelings were hurt, ashrider. It sounds like you and TBP have a lot in common - including your IP numbers....

Ex Racer Forum, thank you too everyone who wrote the kind comments. I think we will continue our search for a rider on a more positive forum; this is not the response we were going for. We invite anyone in the Maryland area to stop by our farm at 1937 Hampstead-Mexico Rd, Westminster, MD 21157. We are putting in a new ring which will be finished this week. Maybe Allie can even stop over and see our goats, Hoopah, Boots, and our new addition "Jazzy". My OTTB, Pilot, "Chance to Dance" was actually from the MA Canter website so maybe you can see how he is doing as well. We also have "Helens Eyes" and "Kiss the Clouds" from Canter. Again, thanks to those who wrote kind comments!

We wish you good luck finding the right person for your farm. I'm sorry you feel that we are not a positive forum, but we do not have a lot of members who need what you have to offer. Good luck in your search. Goalie

Ashrider, Welcome-- Please don't mistake questions about who you all "are" into insulting your good web work. The thing is, I get a little suspicious when the same group of folks shows up a year or so later with an entirely different name (Where is "your first horse?"), new website (which looks very nice BTW), and same lack of identifying information. It's fishy, and very easy to fix thankfully. I know that if I were looking for a working student position, I'd want to know who it is I was going to work for.
Question though, you catch-ride for your moms farm?
