Thoroughbred Prospects is an equine sales facility looking for a working student. Wonderful opportunity to ride many types of horses and show at local schooling events. No stalls or barn chores. Check out our website before applying to see if you would be a good fit. We encourage all level riders to apply...very fun barn !

I always find it a bit strange when someone has a website, but does not have who you/they are--I cannot find any information about the farm at all except for sale horses and pictures of goats. You might want to elaborate about who "you" are, what your experience is, and what you have to offer someone who will be working "free" in exchange for exercising sale horses.

I would not exactly call it working for free. You would have full board at our facility as well as health insurance. We also provide you with all of your show clothing that you select and we pay all of your show fees for your horse as well as ours. This is not a full time job and we encourage people to apply that are looking to expand their riding experience. It is a fun atmosphere and we certainly do not want anyone to apply who is looking for a paid position. We do pay our barn help but those positions are filled currently. I would encourage you to research your comment about the bad post we have. Anyone can type anything into that site and it will come up. My ex actually posted that..not an unhappy customer.

Wow thats a really really great deal... and all they have to do is ride your horses and you give them full board, health insurance (WHAT?!?!), show clothing, show fees, and horses to ride? And no barn chores? Why are you having to advertise for this position? You'd think that people would be lining up for this... Geeze... that sounds better than a paid position.... Seriously, though- what is up with the lack of information?!

Not to be hateful... BUT
There is really no place on this site for people who abuse or neglect horses, or don't pay their horse-related bills. If this is you, get lost. If it is an erroneous post, then I have sympathy for you and wish you the best of luck in reversing the stigma that goes along with it.
Typically, if someone is accused there is usually a little truth to it......
(MODS - I hope you don't kick me off here for a hateful post)

It is a false report and it really sucks. I wish it wasn't there too. When we contacted the company to remove it they asked us to participate in the Corporate Program which would cost us $5000. They never even asked if it was true. I started doing research on the guy who runs the site and he is wanted for fraud and msn and yahoo have completely removed his site from their index. Hopefully google will follow. I pride myself on my horses and my whole business started with 2 horses from the track that needed re-hab. I kept them for a year and re-trained them and it kept on growing. We have expanded to ponies now but we are still a very small company. I am so sorry for posting this here. My daughter catch rides for someone else and they do the same thing that we do. I had no idea that this was not a good learning position. What types of things would you like for this position? Thanks for your input!

I personally think that it is very sad that people can have something like what has been written on that site without having to put their name and contact on it. It is easy to post something with someone's name but they don't have to back it up with fact.
I really think that before believing and commenting on tripe like that website you should investigate further yourself.

I'm all for rebutting things that go wrong, and dog knows people can be petty/spiteful/mean/damaging, But it doesn't address the fact that you have no identifiable information about who you are, what your experience is, or at least what a working student position offers on the site.
I've unfortunately had too many dealings with people who aren't exactly who they say they are, and I have to tell you my BS meter goes off seeing that you have changed farm names and still don't have identifying information up.

Thank you soooo much. It has been such an uphill battle. This report used to come up before my actual website in google. I have worked very hard building my business and it was really devastating to me. If it was an actual customer I would have deserved it! We love our horses and have them here with us for about a year before they are sold so I try to keep good tabs on them and their show careers. That posting makes me look like some type of animal abuser...I don't even eat meat because I feel so bad about it.

Oh goodness I am no big time trainer. Just some small person who takes horses and tries to further their career. I have not accomplished a ton in my riding career. My daughter designed my website and I am sending her an e-mail asking her to add a page about me on there too. Thanks for the suggestion, I guess I always was focusing on the horses and neglected to add myself.

Hmmm I just read through the sites that Allie and you provided, but when I went back to your 1st post, I couldn't find your web site address any longer. Strange if you ask me.
I sure hope you are not coming on exracers under the wrong reasons.
Thanks allie for posting those sites.

Looks like the OP's website is: www.thoroughbredprospects.comI do find it interesting that there is no one person's name ever listed anywhere on the website. The only one that I found was that the website and photography was designed by an Ashlen Forbes, who is also mentioned in the sites Allie posted. This whole thing is a bit fishy, but I'll keep an open mind and hope that the OP has the best of intentions in posting this here.
