Sarah, Sarah - 'in the US or Canada'?? Kidding! Just wanted to second the Strange and Norrell - it's a re-read and re-read. (One you save in a fire, for instance..) Also I'd second Zaidie Smith. The others - great recommendations, thanks, I'm going to Amazon order The Horse That God Built, Chosen By a Horse and Saving Fish (and maybe the Mulvaneys too.) Got dangerously close to 'nothing to read' this week, but Amazon arrived yesterday with Molokai and Bel Canto and a few others. I'd also recommend 'Chicago Stories (Tales of the City)' which is an anthology of short stories by Chicago writers which Sarah brought as just part of her gift when she visited. Maya Angelou, Saul Bellow were two names that I knew, but there are so many good writers here. I love this forum - so many great recommendations. Thanks to everyone.
