I will be rooting for Giacomo. I LOVE it when a long shot wins.

Well, Tomorrow we'll know a lot more. The trainers will be announcing who came out of the race in good shape and who will need the extra time off and shoot for the Belmont. I know of a few local horses who are possibly shooting for the Preakness. i think i'll keep my mouth until i know for sure who is gonna run!

I am going to wait until Juliab's daughter picks for me! But I need to know the day before okay?
I have grandstand tickets! Undercover and everything. Nothing is going to ruin my day. Now just deciding who to bet on....

LOL! Audrey is now in love with Giacomo and has him as her wallpaper on her computer. She is going to be hoping that he wins the triple crown. I told her she should look at the pictures of the horses entered for the Preakness though, just to be sure she doesn't "see something special" the way she did before.
She loves grays and I'm guessing that was a big part of it.

It was funny...days before the Derby I had a dream that a grey won the Derby. I dismissed it though because; 1) It was a dream 2) I didn't realize at the time that there were any greys in the derby. 3) It was Giacomo...totally ignored him, though now I wonder why.
But anyway I can't say who will win...I just still am not impressed with Giacomo though I do have to say he does seem to try in every one of his races, and it is quite a feat that he won the Derby considering all the bumping and checking that he had to suffer through. If anything I think he'll win the Belmont, he was still driving after the wire, I think he'll eat up the distance. As for the Preakness, all depends how he comes out of the race.
He does have a nice pedigree though...obviously it's impressive because of Holy Bull, but he also has some real nice blood in there like Tom Fool, Bold Ruler, Nearco, Nasrullah and some other nice studs in his pedigree. We'll have to see!

I'm still mad I wasn't paying more attention before the Derby, because I woulda had to put a bet on the only grey in a 20 horse field, ridden by a jockey that happens to have the same name as my Vet. Sigh of all the years not to be paying attention. Anyway, he might stand a shot in the Preakness, but he's gonna have to show something spectacular with all the horses holding out for the Belmont. Oh and common, always bet on the grey.

I'm not getting excited about a Triple Crown winner, every year I do, every year I'm disappointed! LOL anyway, to what Zen said, Buzzard's Bay is skipping the Preakness and going to the Belmont well rested, so while I'm excited for the Preakness, I can't wait for Belmont!
