Well Mike Collins is one of the 'better' trainers, but I think he races many horses that he shouldn't.
Tammi is also a good jock, so one would think your mare is in good hands. At least she isn't with a 'crack' trainer (there are many at Suffolk that you look at and wonder how they lived this long, much less got their trainer's license).

My BF's father said he knows this trainer. Or did. He said he's "a butcher."
Not sure if how he means that...so I guess we can all interpret that as we will.
We claimed this mare at Thistle for 3500. She used to be a really NICE mare. They just ran her to death. So we gave her three months off, only swimming her, and then putting her on the wlaking machine. (MNR has that three month rule when you claim from another track). Anyway, the first few races we ran her in were for 15k and 10k. She was second in one and won the other. She ran well for us, but we didn't run her too often. She has a sore shoulder and ankles if I remember. Lots of heart, her body is just tired. That's why I was so excited when I was originally told she was getting bred, and totally bummed when I started getting notifications of her running. I think she'd had Some time to rest now. It will be interesting to see how she handles that track.

Ugh poor mare. Suffolk is NOT good for horses with sore shoulders. It is very hard, terrible surface. My vet commented he's never given so many injections before, the track is really taking a toll on them this year.
I think he means butcher the same way I think he races many horses that shouldn't be on the track. Let me know how she runs.

Nero's entered for this Saturday. We're trying to duplicate the many times in his past that he ran 2nd . 3rd, or 4th and then won 10-12 days later. He's about ready to chew someone's arm off from what I've been told. I can't wait to see him Friday (I had to leave him in Suffolk when I left with the others because I wanted him to run where he's already accustomed to the track.)
I'll be happy if he's in the top four, there are 11 in the race. But I really don't want to jinx him so as long as he crosses the finish line and comes home safely with me the next day I'll be fine with anything! He'll get about a month off to play and then if he tells me (he is very vocal- when canternevolunteer says he has personality, he definitely does) he wants to go back to racing, he can.

Nero ran a very good third behind a darn allowance horse that dropped in. He was a very good boy, but very annoyed to be beaten again.
