I forget the horse's name already... A Good Day to Run, I think is the name, but now I'm not sure. Anyway, he won the 5th race at Mountaineer. I believe he was one they claimed. It reads like it was an exciting race.

We bought this horse outright from the old trainer. He's been such a pleasure to be around. Only downfall is that he cribs. He's so stinking sweet and cute! We've had him for a month and two days and I just adore him. Yep, he broke sharp and went right to the lead. Then say 3rd for the whole back stretch. Then on the turn he dropped to fourth and we thought he was done. Then in the home stretch he gained back to 2nd. We never thought he was going to catch Sir Aly (who is owned and trained by a CLOSE friend). We won by a nise! It was very exciting!
Thanks for posting it RR! Thanks GM!

Congrats Jen! I've been wanting to let you know that I printed out K.A.'s race record to show to my boss as ammo for convincing him to run one of my favorite old boys from the farm.

Keely - Using him as ammo eh? ;D You are too naughty!
Michelle - You have NO idea! Best part is that A ton of Lou's family is visiting and they all got to be in the picture!

That is so cool Jen! You'll have to post the win pic when you get it!
Just wondering, do you guys race year round or take the winter off?

In the winter the track slows down quite a bit. The go to 3 or 4 days of racing a week and cut the card to 9 races a night instead of 10. They also take two weeks off and then come back, and then another 3 weeks off. Something like that. This year we only kept Toby and CT going over the winter. All the rest of the horses had several months off. It's really hard to get into the races at all during the winter because of the track schedule.

Sorry, I couldn't remember if you guys claimed or bought him, but I knew that he was new. You guys did claim a few though, right? What were their names again?

I see that Assumed Risk is running tonight (Mountaineer, Race 9). I placed a small wager so I'll definitely be watching. TVG better show the race and not go switching to Hollywood Park the way they sometimes do Does he have a barn name so I can yell it out?

I just call him Risk. My BF's mom calls him "Tongue" because he always has it sticking out...but that's so ugly!
If TVG isn't showing it and you have dish, go down one channel to 404 I think. It's another racing channel that shows it too....

Grabbed a win tonight! All I can say is WOW! What a nice horse. He was bad in the paddock (strong and acted like he was going to flip), but before the race he stood quietly in the stall, afterwards he was quiet and easy to handle. Very mannerly. I sure do like em like that!
