Hit enter too soon!!!  I've been doing groundwork with Ali, who will be 3 on May 8. I've sat on her twice, both times with my husband holding the lead. Today, I got brave and climbed aboard without any assistance! She was so good. I asked her to move forward and first she backed up , but then she figured it out and moved forward. We did a right circle, left circle and a good whoa, and then I figured that was enough for today. I'm so proud of my little home grown girl! Ali at two weeks of age  Ali now  |

Ali is so beautiful she takes my breath away. Reminds me how much I want to breed Avalon to an arabian someday. I'm hoping my friend's mare has a little colt in a couple of weeks. That would be the daddy I'd want, he will have great bloodlines and should be awesome cute. I think she wants a filly.  Truth is I can't wait either way! |

HokieLee.. this filly is a keeper! I'm hoping she'll be the last riding horse I need.. I'm 51 now.. if she lives to be 30, she'll carry me until I'm 80!

You're taking it nice and slow with your beautiful filly....I'm sure she's thinking "what IS the big deal with Mommy? She acts like I don't even know what to do!" hahaha She's been watching you ride Star and now Zab for a couple years. I bet she'll be trained in a jiffy! It's just like the "opposite" of BREAKING her, isn't it? hahaha

You know I will! I'm still waiting on my shoer, so I can get Sass trimmed. Then I can measure her and get her Old Mac Boots ordered. I will be so relieved not to have to worry about her getting her shoes hung up in the barb wire!!
